TeleSecurity Sciences is developing new infrastructure and networking software intended to greatly improve the capabilities of current and future generation airport scanners by providing advanced visualization tools and leading edge networking technology for the security industry. Our software solutions can improve the performance of automatic detection algorithms, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of airport screeners.

Our Two Key Components
Existing CT based explosive detection systems (EDS) currently deployed at airports detect various threats within packed bags through vendor proprietary automatic detection algorithms. The CT slice images of alarmed bags are carefully examined by a human screener who then either accepts or redirects the bag for explosive trace detection (ETD) and/or manual unpacking for a visual inspection. The TeleSecurity Sciences system is aimed at:

1. lowering the EDS alarm rate and
2. improving the alarm resolution process using 3-D views of "electronically unpacked bags" to reduce the number of bags requiring manual inspection, thus lowering the cost of operation.

The false alarm rate will be lowered independently of the EDS scanner model and vendor, and the screening process will be streamlined with remotely available screening experts. Our system is truly a CT vendor independent baggage inspection system using TeleSecurity Sciences proprietary 3-D Electronic Unpacking and TeleInspection.
