4. Nuclear Physicist/Engineer
The job involves the design and development of advanced X-ray imaging systems. The applicant must be knowledgeable in accelerator physics, quantum theory of radiation (e.g., Compton scatter, photoelectric effect, and pair production), and detector technologies. The successful applicant will be assigned to any one or more of the following tasks: (1) work with our senior physicist to design and develop electron beam steering software, (2) Monte-Carlo simulation (e.g., using Geant4) to verify our in-house developed scatter correction algorithm, (3) design of plastic scintillating detector (doping material, thickness, etc.), (4) assist in the development of related grants and proposals and (5) present/publish papers in conferences and journals. This position will report to the CTO.
The applicant will have a recent degree in physics, nuclear engineering or electrical engineering. This is an ideal position for a recent Ph.D. graduate with excellent scientific programming skills.
